Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park
The town of Bar Harbor is home to some 5,000 year-round residents, though in the summertime, the population swells. People from around the world flock to this quiet locale, where temperatures typically rest below eighty degrees and provide a cool reprieve for visitors.
Early sunrises and late twilights allow ample time for in-town and around the park adventures. Within the confines of Bar Harbor, one can stroll along the village green, shop, visit museums, or enjoy fresh seafood and ice cream. There are also opportunities for whale watching and nature tours.
Venturing into the 33,000 acres of Acadia National Park presents an entirely different agenda. Dorr, Cadillac, Champlain, and the Bubble mountains invite hikers, while the Bowl Pond, Eagle Lake, and Sand Beach draw swimmers and sunbathers. Bike paths and free shuttle transportation serve as additional means for exploring this natural splendor.
