Scientifically Speaking

Scientifically Speaking is a virtual event series that underscores The Jackson Laboratory’s (JAX) unwavering commitment to educating the next generation of scientists. By showcasing our unique blend of research, education, and resources, we aim to inspire and empower young minds in the biomedical community. Our content is crafted to be accessible and engaging, ensuring that future scientists are well-equipped to advance human health. JAX is dedicated to fostering an environment where young scientists can thrive and make meaningful contributions to the future of biomedical research.

Breakthroughs in Heart Health

Heart disease remains a major global health challenge that affects millions of lives each year. JAX is leveraging the power of genetics research to make a difference. Join us for the latest installment of “Scientifically Speaking,” to hear from two of our postdoctoral scientists who are taking innovative approaches to heart disease research.

Postdoctoral Associate, Lisa Wren, Ph.D., will present her promising new therapeutic interventions targeting the genetic mechanisms of heart failure, while Postdoctoral Associate, John Bachman, Ph.D., will showcase his collaborative research project on the hazards of certain cancer treatments for heart disease. The event will be moderated by Kate Reed, M.P.H., SC.M., CGC, Director of Precision Oncology Education, JAX Clinical Education.
